Quit Comparing Yourself To Petty Betty Homemaker!
A lot of people ask, "but what about Petty Betty Homemaker down the road who is selling shirts for $15? I have to match her pricing to get customers!".... and here is what I have to say to that...
NO THE FUCK YOU DON'T! This isn't walmart. We aren't price matching. Petty Betty can work her ass off for $0 if she wants.... do yo' thing guuuurl. But not a chance in hell I'm doing that! And not a chance in hell I want my entire customer base to be local!
You see, there is this thing called the INTERNET. And it is HUGE. And it also means you do NOT have to stay local! Your customer base is probably going to start local, but you should be working on EXPANDING.
Most of y'all know I work in the real estate industry, so I'm going to use the real estate market as an example. The average price point of a house in Indiana is $186k. The average price point of a house in Colorado is $408k. The average price point of a house in New York is $654k. The average price point of a house in Washington DC is $809k. Which of those markets would you want to tap into?! And the beauty of it is that Facebook is LITERALLY available in every single one of those states.
QUIT BASING YOUR PRICING OFF OF PETTY BETTY DOWN THE DAMN ROAD! KNOW YOUR WORTH.... THEN ADD TAX.... AND A TIP.... AND EVEN SOME EXTRA FOR INSURANCE!
