Packaging = Presentation
Packaging is probably one of the most challenging decisions for a business owner. How do I make my packaging look nice for a good first impression, but how do I keep my items protected, and all at a reasonable cost?
I ship EVERYTHING inside of a polymailer.
My t-shirts go inside of a cellophane bag (for protection) and then the cellophane bag goes inside of a polymailer which doubles the protection but also makes my packaging look nice.
My monthly mystery/subscription boxes go inside of a flip top box (for protection) and then the box goes inside of a polymailer for the same reasons above.
My transfers go inside of a rigid mailer (for protection) and then the rigid mailer goes inside of a poly mailer for the same reasons above.
I love picking polymailers & I always try to look at the packaging from a customers perspective.
These are the polymailers I use most often for our t-shirt and mystery/subscription boxes:
• Thank You Polymailer: https://www.amazon.com/.../ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc...
These are the polymailers I use most often for our transfers:
• Empower Polymailer: https://upaknship.com/ig-love-smilemail-designer-poly...
I personally don’t use stickers because I prefer a simple minimalistic look & I feel like the messaging on the polymailer speaks loudly enough to cover the message I would want a sticker to represent as well.
I am not big on fillers in my packages. I never add Candy because I worry that it could melt and somehow ruin the contents of the package. Other little fillers are often a waste of money because they aren’t used by the customer.
A few months ago I wanted to test my theory on package fillers. I spent $500 on sleep masks, hair ties & pens and includes them in my shirt retail orders & transfer orders. A couple of weeks later I made a post in my retail group asking their thoughts on the fillers, if the filler items were used, and if those fillers would influence their decision to purchase again. Less than 5 people said they used the filler items, and out of the more than 200 responses I received not one person said those fillers would influence their decision to purchase again.
I am a fan of THANK YOU cards though
